Let the one who is to make her final profession of vows come forward. Caitlyn
Lind Deck, known in religion as St. Sister TZ, handmade of the Lord.
Here I am, Lord, because you have called me. My dear daughter, what do you ask of God
and of his holy church? I, a member of the Queenship of Mary
community, by God's grace and mercy, have found in this community the joys
and sufferings involved in living my life totally consecrated to God.
I therefore humbly ask you, Archbishop Donus, to permit me to make my perpetual
profession of vows in the religious family of the Queenship of Mary community for the glory of God and the
needs of the church. Thanks be to God.
Tonight is indeed a very special night.
We marvel first of all in the great gift that God has made to all of humanity
in the gift of his son, the Messiah, the savior of the world,
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. And we marvel in the way that God chose
to bring his son into our world
that he may be incarnate that he be one of us.
And as we see in the gospel reading tonight, in the narrative of the enunciation of
angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, he speaks
of a son who is to come, who will reign in our world and whose reign will last
forever. He will truly be a king
for all of humanity. And so we rejoice in that very gift. But
we also rejoiced in how God has chosen Mary
to work with God's plan to be truly an active partner, if you
might say, in making this gift come to
be for our world. And so Mary offers herself
and will open herself to the Holy Spirit who will conceive the child within her
womb and bring this king to this world.
Now according to the biblical traditions,
the queen was the mother of the king.
We might be more familiar with the queen being the wife of the king.
But back then the mother of the king had great powers,
intercessory powers in the sense that a lot of people who were too afraid to go
directly to the king to ask for favors would go to the mother of the king.
she would intercede on their behalf and go to the king, her son,
and ask if he could grant them the favor.
Now, you can see where I'm going with this. Hey, Mary
is called queen of heaven, queen of all creation,
queen of the apostles, and the mother of the church
because she is the mother of our king.
And she does have great intercessory powers.
We are all in some way called to be mediators of God's grace.
Actually, Pope Leo called upon all Christians
a week ago if I'm not mistaken or not too long ago that today
we may pray in a special way through fasting and prayer for peace in Ukraine.
So the Pope like many others throughout history is
calling upon all baptized to become mediators of God's grace. We
pray for a favor for peace. So among
the many mediators that we are because there is
the one and only unique mediator and that is Christ. But all others imitate Christ are called
to imitate Christ in that role of a mediator. And Mary is kind of way at the
top as the queen of heaven, as the mother of
God, as the mother of the church.
She knows her son very well and she knows our
needs very well. And so as a church, we turn to her
that she may pray, that she may intercede, that she may pour down the
graces of her son, Jesus Christ, upon all of us who seek for his blessing.
And so tonight we ask Mary for her special blessing
upon Sister Tedes and all of the Queenship of Mary community that this
may be a night of rejoicing as we welcome Sister Teres and her
perpetual vows as she consecrates herself totally to Christ and calls upon
Mary to intercede for her. We unite ourselves in joy with the whole
church as we we pray for you. As we pray
in thanksgiving, we pray in thanksgiving for Sister Tedza's family.
Thank you for everything you've done in making all that possible. for her to
recognize her calling, the voice of God,
to grow in her faith, in her Catholic values and virtues,
and to embrace a consecrated life. I'm sure you had a part to play in all of
that. You know, when God calls
and he does call in in mysterious ways, it is important for us to to hear that
call and to be faithful to that call.
And as we saw in the first reading tonight from the book of Ruth,
uh it's a a very special story.
of a woman who will play a an important role in the plan of God's salvation.
Now, Ruth is a Moabitete. You might say, "What is that?"
So, she was from the land of Moab. In our geography of today is in Jordan.
So on the other side of of the Dead Sea, if you're standing in Jerusalem, for
example, so on the other side of the Dead Sea in Jordan, that's where Moab
is. Now, we were told in the story that a man from Bethlehem,
we've heard that name before, not too far from Jerusalem, travels with his wife and his two sons.
they they walk away from Bethlehem as as immigrants, if you want, who are
hungry. There's a famine going on in their country. And so there's all kinds of realities that bring people to
another country. And in this case, it's famine. And so they find refuge with the
Moabites. and the two sons find their wives among
these people and among them is Ruth.
Now, we're told in the story that the father dies and then the two sons die.
And so, we have three widows who say, "What will he do now?"
And Naomi, who who's the wife of of Elec,
who's from Bethlehem, she she is of the Jewish faith. He says, "Well, I'd like to go back to my home country. I've
heard that God has answered their prayers and there's food again. And so
she decides to travel back, but she tells her two daughters-in-laws, it's
like, I'm not going to force you to come with me. You can stay with your people and with your gods.
[Music] They're not of the Jewish faith.
But Ruth, we are told that she says, "Well, wherever you go, I go. Wherever
you lodge, I lodge. Whatever god you will worship, I will
worship. Beautiful. As a daughter-in-law,
she she she goes all the way in in being there for
her mother-in-law. She she sees to her needs and follows
her and decides to embrace the same faith.
And so how is she important in all this plan of God's salvation? Well, she will
marry a man named Boaz.
Now, you say, "I've never heard that name before." Unless you did hear
in the very beginning of the gospel of of Matthew the whole line of generation
all the way from from Abraham all the way to to Jesus
all his ancestry and in among those his greatgrandfather
the the greatgrandfather of King David
So we're going way back here. So the great grandfather of King David because
Jesus was born of the house of David is Boaz.
And who is his wife? Ruth. So Ruth is the great grandmother of King David.
And so she plays a role in all of God's plan of salvation. And did she know that
that was going to be part of her calling when she followed her her mother-in-law back to to Jerusalem, back to Bethlehem?
Probably not. But she was faithful to the very love that God had placed in her
heart. And sometimes it's all what we need to do. Be faithful to the very gift
of love that God has placed in our hearts. And so we pray tonight that
sister Teres may follow that very gift of love in her heart as
she gives her life to Christ and within the community of the Queenship of Mary.
We pray for you sister Ted tonight.
Dear daughter, what do you desire from the Lord in the Queenship of Mary community?
I desire a perfect path to eternal life and full joy with the Lord.
So through baptism, you have died to sin and have been called to God's service.
Are you now resolved to unite yourself more closely to God by the bond of
perpetual profession? I am for the love of God who loved me first.
Are you resolved with the help of God to embrace a life of perfect chastity,
poverty, and obedience which Christ our Lord and his Virgin Mother chose for
themselves and to persevere in it forever?
I am with the grace of God. Are you resolved to grow in holiness,
modeling yourself and the blessed virgin Mary with joy, unconditional love and
zeal in love of God and of your neighbor by living the gospel in obedience to the
constitutions of your religious community. I am with the grace of God
assisted by the Holy Spirit. Are you resolved to consecrate your whole life
to embracing every opportunity to proclaim Jesus Christ in the world in
the spirit of the evangelical biatitudes? I am with the grace of God.
May God who has begun the good work in you bring it to completion.
Amen.
All rise.
Dearly beloved, let us pray to God the Almighty Father
through his son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that by the intercession of the blessed
Virgin Mary and all the saints, he will pour out the Holy Spirit of his love on
this servant of his whom he has chosen to be consecrated to his service.
Invite you to kneel if you can as we pray the litany.

In this year of the Lord 20125 on August 22nd,
I Caitlyn Leanne Deck known in religion as Sister TZ Handmaid of the Lord led by
the Holy Spirit declare my intention to follow Jesus Christ more closely
and to give a fuller expression of my baptismal consecration.
Therefore, calling upon the blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, St. Teresa of
Avala, St. Michael the Archangel, and all the saints, and in your hands,
Mother Mary Bernardet, superior of the community. I totally surrender myself to God and
unite myself to his will through vows of chastity, poverty, and
obedience for life within the queenship of Mary community.
I wish to continue my quest for God and community life and mutual sharing of
goods. For the love of God and in the presence of my sisters, I promise obedience to my
superior. I pray that God will enable me to live faithfully within community in the Holy
Catholic Church, always unified in love and being of one mind and heart, with my
eyes always fixed on Jesus.
I accept your lifetime profession of vows and receive you as a member of the Queenship of Mary King.
Father in heaven,
source of all holiness, creator of humanity, ity. Your love for
us was so great that you gave us a share in your own divine life.
Neither the sin of Adam nor even the sins of the whole world could alter your loving purpose.
In the dawn of history, you gave us Abel as an example of holiness.
And later from your beloved Hebrew people, you raised up men and women
graced with every virtue. Foremost among them all stands Mary, the
virgin ver, the ever virgin daughter of Zion. From her pure womb was born Jesus
Christ, your eternal word, the savior of the world.
You sent him, Father, as our pattern of holiness. He became poor to make us rich, a slave
to set us free. With love no words can tell, he redeemed
the world by his pascal mystery and won from you the gifts of the Holy Spirit to
sanctify his church. The voice of the spirit has drawn countless numbers of your children to
follow in the footsteps of your son. They leave all things to be one with you
in that bonds of love and give themselves holy to your service and the
service of all your people. Look with favor then on this your
handmade who has heard your call. Send her the spirit of holiness.
Help her to fulfill in faith what you have enabled her to promise in joy.
Keep always before her eyes Christ the divine teacher.
Give her perfect chastity, ungrudging poverty, and wholehearted obedience.
May she glorify you by her humility, serve you with dility, and be one with
you in fervent love. May she build up the church by the holiness of her life, advance the
salvation of the world, and stand as a sign of the blessings that are to come.
So Lord, protect and guide the servant of yours. At the judgment seat of your
son, be yourself her great reward. Give her the joy of vows fulfilled.
Made perfect in your love. May she rejoice with our blessed mother Mary in
the communion of all your saints and praise you forever in their company.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord, bless this ring and strengthen the faith of the sister
who will wear it and make her a living sign of God's love in imitation of our
blessed mother. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
[Music]
Take up your cross and follow Christ, living no longer for yourself, but for
him who loved you first.
It's official. Let us show our joy and our gratitude.

Heat. Heat. [Music]. Amen.
Please be seated. Invite sister to offer us a few words.
Good evening.
I have some thank yous. Um, yeah. First of all, I'm just very
grateful to be here. I'm grateful for your presence,
Archbishop, and for permitting me to make my perpetual professional vows within the queenship of Mary community
and also for the presence of Archbishop Emmeritus for their guest and for father
Elaine for all his help today and with this ceremony for Father Jacques and Father Michael here at Notraam Cathedral
for Father Ben our co-founder for the four priests who held the Paul for me and for all the priests and the
deacons here with us today. Thank you for the music
and for the live stream, Armando and David for the photos. Thank you sisters
for being here today for all religious communities and my own community. Thanks
for coming and for everything. Yeah. Yeah. For
everything you did. Thank you to my family. I have my mom and my dad and
three of my siblings and their families here today. Thank you. We we're from Saskatchewan, so they came a long way.
And my parents brought my baptismal candle all the way from Saskatchewan. So that's very special to me because
religious consecration is a deepening of the baptismal consecration. So I'm grateful for them for everything they
did to keep the flame burning brightly like they promised 31 years ago. So I'm very grateful and
grateful for all of you for being here with me to celebrate religious consecration
as I've been reflecting on it. It is so much a call to be an icon of the church for the love between bridegroom and
bride for Jesus and his church. So, thank you for being here today and for
permitting me to become an icon and a sign for you of the wedding banquet to
come in eternity. I'm very grateful for this privilege. And I am grateful to Mary, queen of
heaven and earth, who very much has invited me to follow her kind of like a
little Ruth, I think. So, I'm really grateful uh for her maternal care in my life and for the Lord Jesus for
entrusting his heart to me. And I'm just going to stop there. Thank
you. If you're all invited to come downstairs for a little reception.
